- 1CPUCentral Processing Unit
Contains: Processer, main memory and cache. - 2RAMCPU memory that temporarily stores programs. Processor fetches data from here. Made from addressable locations. (Volatile)
- 3ProcessorFetches, decodes and executes instructions
- 4CacheHigh speed memory in the CPU.
Faster than RAM.
Improves CPU Performance. - 5Clock SpeedMeasured in Hertz. How many processes per second.
Higher the clock speed, the faster the Processor. - 6System BusesInternal circuits/wiring
- 7Fetch-Execute CycleInstructions are stored in RAM >
Fetched by Processor >
