  1. 1Natural NumberA natural number are integers that start from 0.
    They can be referred to as counting numbers as they are used to increment values.
    They are denoted as N.
  2. 2Integer NumbersAn integer is a whole number (not a fractional number) that can be positive, negative or zero.
    They are denoted a Z, is defined below:
    Z = {..., -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3}
  3. 3Rational NumbersA rational number is one that can be defined as a fraction.
    Fractions being made up of 2 integers, the value being the ratio between the two.
    They are denoted as Q, and represents all the possible integer-to-natural-number ratios p/q.
  4. 4Irrational numbersIrrational numbers are numbers that cannot be represented as fractions or ratios as the decimal will contain infinite repeating values.
  5. 5Real NumbersA real number is a positive or negative number with or without a fractional part.
    Integers, rational and irrational numbers are all real numbers.
    The defining feature of a real number is that the fractional part can be any length.
    They are denoted as R
  6. 6Ordinal NumbersOrdinal numbers are used to identify a position relative to other numbers.
    For example when numbers are placed in a list they are used to tell there position - First, Second, Third.
    They are often used with cardinal numbers, which identify the size of the list.
  7. 7Unsigned binaryThis is the ‘normal’ binary system that we are used to working with.
    It only allows you to work with positive binary numbers. Negative are not used in this.
  8. 8Signed binarySigned binary number representation is a number system that allows both positive and negative numbers to be used.
    Two’s complement is a number system that is recognised for binary. Allowing both positive and negative numbers to be represented.
  9. 9Adding unsigned binary numbersAdd numbers is the same as long multiplication.
    0+0=0
    0+1=1
    1+1=10
    1+1+1=11
    3==11
    2==10
  10. 10Multiplying unsigned binary integersMultiplying the 1st number by each of the digits of the second number in turn starting from the right hand side.
