The common measures of location are quartiles and percentiles

Numbers that separate the data into quarters

Helps to order large amounts of data. Divide the dataset int 10 equal parts.

Useful for comparing values. Divide the dataset into hundredths equal parts.

Number that measures the "center" of the data.

kth Percentile

Number that indicates the spread of the middle half or the middle 50% of the data

Half the values are the same number or smaller than the median
