1. input device

   • a input device is anything that you can use to send data into a computer
     • their are Manuel input devices such as mice, keyboard and scanners and many more that need to be physically controlled

2. computer system

   • computer system are based on processing data and producing information
     • most computer systems are fast and the important thing is that its programmable
     • computer system are found in most electronic gadgets such as washing machines, cameras, bugler alarms and telephones
     • computer used in electronic gadgets have all sorts of simple or basic functions such as inputs and outputs

3. embedded systems

   • most computer systems are embedded devices
   • embedded systems are software that can be programed to carry out a number of tasks
   • cars have over 50 embedded systems that's why its hard to find a problem if it occurs

4. CPU

   • CPU stands for central processing unit
     • it can be tort has the brain as the computer
   • the CPU works by collecting data from the input port and processes it once its processed it send it to the output port and then repeats the processes again

5. memory

   • the CPU in the computer fetches data and information so it can processes it
     • this type of memory is called primary memory and the CPU can only use it
       • the two main types of primary memory are ram (random access memory) and ROM (read only memory)
   • RAM
     • RAM stands for random access memory, it can be accessed and can be changed by the CPU
     • only the memory that the computer is working on is stored on the ram
     • the RAM also needs power for it to store data meaning its volatail
   • ROM
     • ROM is often used to store boot program, these are program used to start up the computer
     • a key fact about ROM about ROM is that is cant be overwritten
