   • FETCH-DECODE-EXECUTE
   • PROCESS SPEED
     • One cycle per second = 1 instruction carried out each second = 1 Hertz Hz
     • 1 kilohertz (kHz) = 1000 cycles per second
     • 1 megahertz (MHz) = 1,000,000 cycles per second
     • 1 giggahertz (GHz) = 1,000,000,000 cycles per second

   • Stores data whilst powered (volatile)

   • Meant for temporary storage
   • Is faster than ROM

   • Reads and writes data onto metal platters
   • Is a storage device that allows you to save data directly to the computer
   • Is the permanent computer storage, it lets you store data for a very long time

7. FLOPPY DRIVE: reads and writes from floppy disks

   • FLOPPY DISC: a storage medium used for moving information between computers,

8. OPTICAL DRIVE: reads and writes on compact discs

9. ROM: read+only+memory

   • Stores data that can only be read
   • Can keep it's data whilst it's not powered (non-volatile)
   • Has storage capacity between 1 to 256 GB
   • Meant for permanent storage
   • Is slower than RAM
   • Is a memory chip

10. LOGIC GATE

    • Can be found in most digital devices
    • Flat, thin board that has tiny electrical components built into it
    • The components make up an electric circuit
    • They determine the output by putting the input through the circuit.
