1. Sound

   • Sound is an analogue signal
   • sound needs data to store the amplitude and the series
   • sound quality depends on the resolution of the sample and the sample intercal
   • sythesis is when the sound is recreated by the computer through speakers

2. Images

   • The number of bites used to store the picture depends on the number of colour that can be used in it.
   • stored in binary (0's and 1's)
   • for a computer to rebuild pictrure it must know the reserlution and colour depth of the image

3. storing mesurments

   • a bit is a single binary digit
   • a byte is 8 bit's
   • a nibble is 4 bits
   • a kilo byte is 1024 bytes
