   • Observation also involve the perception of different data

2. PERCEPTION + INTERPRETATION = OBSERVATION

   • What does it mean?
     • give meaning to that thing
   • What’s going on?
     • receive and caught the information from the environment
   • People may interpret differently the things we perceive with different interpretations, behaviours and reactions

3. TYPES OF OBSERVATION METHOD IN DATA COLLECTION

   • STRUCTURED
     • You look into a specific thing and you're concentrate only with that
   • UNSTRUCTURED
     • A free and open manner without looking into a specific thing

4. OBSERVATION METHOD

   • ADVANTAGES
     • One of the best ways to formulate a hypothesis
     • Greater flexibility in terms of application
     • Obtain Additional Information
   • DISADVANTAGES
     • Many teachers become nervous when being observed, and their performance may suffer. That means that student behavior may also change
     • Different perceptions among teachers
     • Bias

5. PARTICIPANT OBSERVATION

   • Researcher participates as an active member of the group

6. NON-PARTICIPANT OBSERVATION

   • Researcher doesn't participate in an activity directly
