   • String Instruments
     • Bouzouki - long neck with three or four pairs of strings
     • Oud - pear shaped
     • Lute - oud but bigger
     • Lyra - three strings played with bow

     • Floyera (wooden flute)
     • Karamoudza (woodwind instrument with double reed)

     • Kanun - large zither

     • Mijwiz - two pipes each with a single reed - clarinet
     • Arghul - like mijwiz with one pipe playing a drone

     • Doumbek - like toubeleki
       • riq (tambourine), deff (tambourine with no bells)

   • dhol - double headed drum - different sounding heads
     • dholak - like dhol but played with hands
   • alghoza - double flute
   • tumbi - single string
   • sarangi and tabla

   • kanun, oud, doumbek and western instruments

6. Calypso

   • Bongos - pair of small drums
   • Conga drums - tall, narrow barrel shaped

7. Samba

   • Surdo - large loud resonant bass drum
   • Repinique - leaders instrument
   • Caixa - snare drum played with sticks
   • Cuica - large pitch range
   • tamborim - small drum
