    • The Lantern in the Cave
      • You wake up inside a dark cave with only a small lantern and three health points
        • In front of you are two paths one leads toward a cold blue light, and the other leads deeper
          • You choose the blue path and discover an old stone door. A silver key lies beside it, guarded by a sleeping creature. You quietly take the key and unlock the door.
            • The village leader tells you that the only way out is to relight the ancient crystal at the centre of the cave. You carry your lantern through the cave. You walk through the cave and approach a cave monster
              • You can either fight the monster or run
                • If u run you escape and live your life after
                • You can fight the monster win and light the crystal winning the game
    • The Maze
      • Player gets trapped in a maze and needs to get out
  2. Prescribed criteria

    • Your story must have 10 different variables
      • Game must have a story
      • Game must have different variables
    • You must have at least two choices for each input (IE. Yes | No, Left | Right, Buy | Sell)
      • Code must function
      • Options has to be more than just “Yes” and “No”
      • Only have 2 choices to limit different endings
    • Game must be easy to play and interesting
      • Game must be short
      • Game story has to make sense
      • Game needs to work properly
    • You must use variables that match your storyline
      • Names must match the theme of the story
  3. Coding constructs

    • Floor loops
      • A loop is an iterative statement that executes a set of instructions repeatedly as long as a specified condition remains true
    • IF statements
      • An if statement is a conditional statement used to make decisions in a program. It evaluates a condition, which is an expression that returns either true or false
  4. Algorithm constructs

    • Sequence
      • A sequential algorithm executes its steps one after another, from start to finish, without branching or looping (repetition)
    • Assignment
      • The assignment problem is a classic combinatorial optimization problem where the goal is to assign each agent to exactly one task
    • Selection and condition
      • Selection is a control structure that lets an algorithm choose between alternative actions depending on whether a condition is true or false.
    • Iteration
      • An iteration algorithm is any computational procedure that repeats a defined update rule
  5. Existing text based Adventure games

    • Colossal Cave Adventure (1976)
      • The game simulates an exploration of a mysterious cave system
        • Colossal Cave Adventure is widely regarded as the first well-known text-based adventure game
        • The core loop of exploring, finding items, and returning them to the Well House can feel repetitive
    • Hunt the Wumpus (1973)
      • The player’s objective is to locate and kill the Wumpus, a dangerous monster hidden in one of the caves
        • Unique topological design
        • he fixed five‑arrow limit can make the game frustratingly punishing,
