1. What is an algorithm?

   • An algorithm is a specific set of instructions for carrying out a procedure or solving a problem, usually with the requirement that the procedure terminate at some point..

2. When do we use algorithms?

   • When we want to do something, we follow some steps to know what do we have to do.

3. Characteristics

   • Precisión: The steps are precisely stated.
   • Uniqueness: Results of each step are uniquely defined and only depend on the input and the result of the proceding steps
   • Finiteness: The algorithm stops after a finite number of instructions are executed.
   • Input: The algorithm receives input.
   • Output: The algorithm produces output

5. USE

   • A doctor that makes a diagnost of a pacient, he has to see what the problema is first, then he has to check the pacient and at the end he prescribes the medicine.
