What is an algorithm?
- An algorithm is a specific set of instructions for carrying out a procedure or solving a problem, usually with the requirement that the procedure terminate at some point..
When do we use algorithms?
- When we want to do something, we follow some steps to know what do we have to do.
Characteristics
- Precisión: The steps are precisely stated.
- Uniqueness: Results of each step are uniquely defined and only depend on the input and the result of the proceding steps
- Finiteness: The algorithm stops after a finite number of instructions are executed.
- Input: The algorithm receives input.
- Output: The algorithm produces output
EXAMPLE
- Make a power point presentation
USE
- A doctor that makes a diagnost of a pacient, he has to see what the problema is first, then he has to check the pacient and at the end he prescribes the medicine.
