1. Environment

   • What materials can be used to manufacture my product?
     • Are the materials of my product going to be recyclable?
       • What is the impact of my product on the environment?
         • Will my product be easy to disposed of when used?
           • What effect does the products manufacture have on the environment?
             • Where is my product going to be used?
               • Where will i find out about these points mentioned above? and what research will i do?
                 • What research will you i do to find out about environmental issues/materials?

2. Cost

   • Value for money?
     • Cost of the choice of materials?
       • Full Scale model or small scale prototype?
         • How much will it cost to make?
           • How much will my product be sold for? how would i find out how much similar products cost and finally will i sell my product with a profit?
             • How much research and what type of research will i do to find out about cost?

3. Aesthetics

   • Will the aesthetics of my product have to reflect on my target audience and how am i going to research this?
   • will it need to be bright and colourful?
   • How would it appeal to my target market?
   • What would inspire me to come up with some good looking design ideas?
     • What choice of materials affect the aesthetics of my product?
       • Type of research i would need to do to find out stuff on aesthetics and where would i get the information from?

4. Function

   • What is my product going to be able to do?
     • How is it going to function?
       • will it insist of having either primary or secondary function?
         • How does my product function?
           • Where is my product going to be used?
             • Who is going to be able to use my final product?
               • Will i have to consider any safey requirements?
                 • What type of research am i going to carry out to find out about all these requirements?

5. Ergonomics

   • is it going to be used by people if so which part?
     • is my product at a reasonable weight, shape, size, and is it at the right comfort for the user?
       • Will my product need an instruction manual?
         • Will my product be easy to handle/use?
           • How am i going to research the ergonomics and what do i need to find out or collect (anthropmoetric data?) and where would i get this from?

6. Quality

   • How am i going to ensure the quality of my preoduct (Quality assurance)?
     • will i need to use CAD/CAM to ensure accuracy to ensure the accuracy and quality.
       • Will i need to make templates of my product or jigs to ensure quality of my product
         • What materials could i use? and can i consider cheaper materials and not compramise the quality.
           • How would i check the quality of my material during the manufacturing stages? and how would i research this
             • willi have to test materials before i start?

7. User

   • Who is my target audience?
     • What is my product aimed at?
       • What is their age?
         • What is their gender?
           • What is their interests?
             • Do they have disabilities?
               • Where will my product be used
                 • Why is my product going to be used
                   • Will my product be safe for the user, and how will i consider this?
                     • What research will i have to do to find out about what the user wants?
