1. Word / Word processor

   • Qualitative data (text based data)
   • Example-Letter or essay document
   • Different layouts, word count and you can underline and highlight key points etc.

2. Excel

   • Quantitative data (number based data)
   • Example-Sales spreadsheet
   • Calculations, graphs, tables

3. Powerpoint

   • Qualitative and Quantitative data
   • Visual information, presentations, images to aid. Slideshow, easy to read as it includes little wording.

4. Publisher

   • Qualitative data
   • Many different formatting tools, can be used for newspaper articles, brochures, cards, calendars etc.
   • Used to present the data in a way that's easy to read.

5. Access database

   • Qualitative data
   • Used amongst companies, mainly to store customer details like, name, address, phone number e.g. like in a doctors or school they would have a long database of the patients or students.
   • Enables details to be stored in a orderly fashion which is easy to search through/
