DATABASE

1. The operation of a database is based on the sending of user instructions to it by using the SQL language.

   • SQL (Structured Query Language) Is a programming language designed to store, manipulate and retrieve data stored in relational databases
     • one objetive is Understand the functionality of this programming language.

2. Database management systems-DBMS

   • Collection of programs whose objective is to serve as interface between the database, the user and the applications (ORACLE, MySQL, MS SQL Server, etc)
     • DDL Data Definition Language
       • Declaration and definition of database objects
         • CREATE
           • CREATE DATABASE nombre_basededatos
           • CREATE TABLE name_table (atributo1,atributo2, …atributo_n)
             • After the names of the attributes is written the type of data and if it is a primary key, or if it is a foreign key
         • ALTER
           • ALTER TABLE table_name ADD new_column_name DATATYPE
         • DROP
           • DROP table_name
       • I understood the difference between defining data and manipulating data.

         • HAVING search condition for group by
         • ORDER BY the order of ascending or descending search

     • I want to use the main SQL statements and see how they work
     • One more goal is to observe and identify the syntax of the SQL language
