1. IDE

   • An IDE is an Integrated Development Environment. An IDE has features such as debugging tools for inspection of variable values, the ability to examine code as it is running to locate errors, and crash dumps produced by debugging, which can show the state of variables.
   • Other features include automation tools, such as wizards, facilities to automate the build, that compiles and then turns the code into a .exe, and a run-time environment which allows developer to runcode during development.

2. Functions vs Procedures

   • Functions differ from procedures as functions return values after running, whereas procedures do not. However, parameters can be passed through both.
   • The memory location is passed by reference.
   • A copy of the variable contents is passed by value.
