1. solid state

   • more durable then magnetic storage as it has no moving parts
   • less coast effective in compaison to magnetic because it it much smaller.

2. optical

   • cost effective and very portable
   • not very durable and has limited capacity.

3. magnetic

   • having a larger capacity than solid state
   • not as durable due to moving parts and read/writes data slower in comparison to solid state
