1. Bytes sizes

   • 8 bits = 1 byte
     • 1024 bytes = 1kb
       • EEPROM = electronically erasable programmable read only memory
     • 1024 kb = 1mb
       • usb = universal serial bus
     • 1024 mb = 1 gb
       • 1024 gb = 1tb
       • 1024 tb =1pb
         • HDD = hard disk drive
         • SSD = solid state drive

2. FETCH INSTRUCTIONS, DECODE INSTRUCTIONS AND EXECUTE INSTRUCTIONS.

   • cache is a small amount of memory which is a part of the cpu and is used to hold instructions
     • cache is the smallest data storer but the fastest
       • embedded system is a computer system within another device
     • when ram fills up it transfers to virtual memory which is found on the hard disk
   • ALU = arithmetic logic unit

3. 3 buses = address, data and control

   • a bus is a set of parallel wires connecting two or more components
   • cpu = central processing unit

4. peripherals are any devices that are not directly connected to the cpu

   • i/o ports allow communication from the i/o device to the motherboard
