1. Authentication

   • Ensuring a program can be maintained overtime
   • Using Comments

3. Sanitisation

   • Hiding and protecting data
   • Masking inputs
     • Hashes inputs to stop shoulder surfing
   • Sanitises Inputs
     • Gets rid of characters required for SQL Injection attack

4. Validation

   • Checking that the Input so it is in the correct format
   • Checks
     • Range Test
       • Within a reasonable range
     • Length
       • Checking that it is not too long or too short
     • Presence
       • Checking that the input is not null
     • Format
       • Must be in a correct format e.g.DD/MM
     • Type
       • Data is of a specified Type
