1. We can say that Excel is a tool to be able to do any type of mathematical calculation on a sheet: spreadsheet. You can perform mathematical operations and create tables of numbers to perform operations with them later in an efficient and fast way.

   • it is used to handle numeric or alphanumeric data grouped in rows and columns also called data tables.
     • FUNCTIONS
       • MATH
         • SUM: sum of several elements. SUMARIF: sum of several elements with one condition. ADD.IFSET - Sum of multiple elements with multiple conditions. MMULT: multiply two matrices. Matrix type. COUNT: count the elements in a range. COUNTIF SET: Count the elements of a list depending on various conditions. INT: extract the integer from a value. AVERAGE: calculates the arithmetic mean of a range of cells. AVERAGEIFSET: count values in a range that meet certain characteristics.
       • LOGICS
         • YES: allows us to evaluate a condition and return a result if it is fulfilled and another if it is not fulfilled Y: nest two or more conditions exclusively. Or: nest two or more conditions in a non-exclusive way
       • OF TEXT
         • RIGHT: returns a given number of characters starting from the right. LEFT: returns a given number of characters starting from the left. CONCATENATE: join several cells or text strings. SPACES: removes leading or trailing spaces from a text string. LENGTH: returns the length of a text string.
       • SEARCH AND REFERENCE
         • INDEX: This function returns a value from a cell given its position in a range. VLOOKUP: This function returns a value associated with the searched value. OFFSET: This function returns the value of a cell given a starting point, a row and a column. MATCH: this function allows us to find a match in a range and obtain its position. CHOOSE: this function returns the value of an argument given an input number. ADDRESS: this function returns the reference to a cell INDIRECT: this function returns the value of a given cell
       • DATE
         • TODAY: this function returns the date of the day. NOW: this function returns the date of the day and the time. DATE: this function allows you to make a conditional with a date. WORKDAYS: returns the number of working days between two dates. YEAR: get the year from a date
       • OTHER
         • ROW: this function returns the row of the cell. COLUMN: this function returns the column of the cell. ISERROR RANDOM: This function returns a random number between 0 and 1. DYNAMIC DATA IMPORT: this function returns a value from a dynamic table given some arguments of the same. HIERARCHY.EQV: this function helps us to rank values of a list and order them from highest to lowest. NPV: this function is used to calculate the NPV and IRR of an investment.
