   • A line through a shape so that each side is a mirror image.

   • A point where two or more straight lines meet. A corner.

   • A special curve, shaped like an arch.

   • The height of the function at "a" is smaller than (or equal to) the height anywhere else in that interval.

   • The height of the function at "a" is greater than (or equal to) the height anywhere else in that interval.

   • where the graph crosses the x-axis

   • Where a function equals the value zero (0)
