Super Smash Bros Ultimate Algorithm

  1. Prescribed Criteria

    • 1. Develop an Algorithm using Pseudocode conventions
      • Develop an algorithm for Super Smash Bros Ultimate
      • Pseudocode conventions have to be used in the algorithm. All key words have to be bold and capital. Put indentations when a code belongs to a particular block of code. START and END should be at the beginning and the final of the algorithm
      • Main words for Pseudocodes are, (IF/IF ELSE, IS EQUAL TO, START, END, THEN, WHILE, OUTPUT, ENDIF, ENDWHILE, TURN, SET, DECLARE, TO, FOR, INPUT)
    • 2. Super Smash Bros
      • Super Smash Bros: Develop an ultimate high damage finishing offensive strategy to eliminate the opponent
        • For Super Smash Bros create a high damage strategy to deal the most damage possible to the opponent to K.O them
        • The strategy should be offensive, means that we don’t need to make or have a defensive character
        • The moves should eliminate the opposition
      • Use five (5) conditions (IF, ELSEIF, ELSE) in your pseudocode
        • The pseudocode must include 5 different to hurt the enemy using IF, ELSEIF, and ELSE
        • Example of offensive Moves of Shulk: Back slash – 10% damage Air Slash - 5.5% (hit 2) Damage Chain Attack - 5% (hit 14) Damage 14 Hits
        • Forward Throw - 3% (hit 1), 5% (throw) Damage
  2. Algorithm Constructs

    • Sequence
      • A series of instructions that are to be followed a step at a time is to create or do a certain action. It is important to do the steps in order otherwise if not in correct order the algorithm will not proceed properly.
        • e.g. Do a sneak Input attack order Execute Lower Smash re-do the sequence
    • Assignment
      • A variable being created and assigning a value to give the character a name. This means the name of the character is stored in the variable to show a better understanding of what the pseudocode is saying.
        • DECLARE Username SET Username TO Shulk OUTPUT “Let’s beat up some bots”
    • Condition
      • Condition helps the program make the decisions and change depending on what happens next in the coding.
        • Someone dies, falls off, or hit off Yes, Victory dance No, Losing screen
    • Selection
      • A selection is a statement that guides the program to pick what the character does next. If the selection is not filled in, another code will fill it in.
        • IF Shulk won THEN OUTPUT Shows the victory screen ENDIF OUTPUT stats screen
    • Iteration
      • Iteration is another word for repetition and used when a code is repeated again and again so the program goes in circles.
        • START FOR 5 steps INPUT Button B ENDFOR END
  3. Chosen Character moves - Shulk

    • Move 1
      • Back slash – Shulk jumps forward and hits a wide slash with the Monado dealing 12% and 19.2% for a Back hit.
        • This move dealing massive amounts of damage in a short time can always finish off the opponent
    • Move 2
      • Air Slash – A quick 2 hit motion that makes them twirl in the air and makes them take damage.
        • This move deals damage and stun letting the player unleash a burst of moves in a split second.
    • Move 3
      • Chain Attack – Shulk’s Final smash that lets Shulk chain attacks with his companions (Dunban, Riki, and Mecha-Fiora).
        • Chain Attack has a 14 move attack which makes them in a combo and can possibly one tap them if over 40%
    • Move 4
      • Forward Throw – Forward Throw slashes the opponent with an upward swing with the Monado Blade.
        • A quick high dealing damage move that throws the opponent and makes them not be able to move for a little bit
    • Move 5
      • Pummel – Pummel smacks the user with the back of Monado dealing 1.3% damage.
        • This move lets you get free hits and damage the opponent to get chip damage
  4. Character Choices

    • Shulk
