Super Smash Bros Ultimate Algorithm
Prescribed Criteria
- 1. Develop an Algorithm using Pseudocode conventions
- Develop an algorithm for Super Smash Bros Ultimate
- Pseudocode conventions have to be used in the algorithm. All key words have to be bold and capital. Put indentations when a code belongs to a particular block of code. START and END should be at the beginning and the final of the algorithm
- Main words for Pseudocodes are, (IF/IF ELSE, IS EQUAL TO, START, END, THEN, WHILE, OUTPUT, ENDIF, ENDWHILE, TURN, SET, DECLARE, TO, FOR, INPUT)
- 2. Super Smash Bros
- Super Smash Bros: Develop an ultimate high damage finishing offensive strategy to eliminate the opponent
- For Super Smash Bros create a high damage strategy to deal the most damage possible to the opponent to K.O them
- The strategy should be offensive, means that we don’t need to make or have a defensive character
- The moves should eliminate the opposition
- Use five (5) conditions (IF, ELSEIF, ELSE) in your pseudocode
- The pseudocode must include 5 different to hurt the enemy using IF, ELSEIF, and ELSE
- Example of offensive Moves of Shulk: Back slash – 10% damage Air Slash - 5.5% (hit 2) Damage Chain Attack - 5% (hit 14) Damage 14 Hits
- Forward Throw - 3% (hit 1), 5% (throw) Damage

Algorithm Constructs
- Sequence
- A series of instructions that are to be followed a step at a time is to create or do a certain action. It is important to do the steps in order otherwise if not in correct order the algorithm will not proceed properly.
- e.g. Do a sneak Input attack order Execute Lower Smash re-do the sequence
- A series of instructions that are to be followed a step at a time is to create or do a certain action. It is important to do the steps in order otherwise if not in correct order the algorithm will not proceed properly.
- Assignment
- A variable being created and assigning a value to give the character a name. This means the name of the character is stored in the variable to show a better understanding of what the pseudocode is saying.
- DECLARE Username SET Username TO Shulk OUTPUT “Let’s beat up some bots”
- A variable being created and assigning a value to give the character a name. This means the name of the character is stored in the variable to show a better understanding of what the pseudocode is saying.
- Condition
- Condition helps the program make the decisions and change depending on what happens next in the coding.
- Someone dies, falls off, or hit off Yes, Victory dance No, Losing screen
- Condition helps the program make the decisions and change depending on what happens next in the coding.
- Selection
- A selection is a statement that guides the program to pick what the character does next. If the selection is not filled in, another code will fill it in.
- IF Shulk won THEN OUTPUT Shows the victory screen ENDIF OUTPUT stats screen
- A selection is a statement that guides the program to pick what the character does next. If the selection is not filled in, another code will fill it in.
- Iteration
- Iteration is another word for repetition and used when a code is repeated again and again so the program goes in circles.
- START FOR 5 steps INPUT Button B ENDFOR END
- Iteration is another word for repetition and used when a code is repeated again and again so the program goes in circles.
