3. Describe what the graphs are showing about the weather

   • The higher the temperature, the less rainfall there is
   • There's no rainfall in the months of June, July and August and the tempertaure is above 30C

4. Deserts are hot in the day and cold at night

   • During the day the sun's rays beat down on the ground making it warm
   • There are no clouds to shade the ground from the sun
   • There's no way to trap the heat so it is cold during the night
   • The air is heated too
   • The heat escapes at night due to no cloud cover

5. Why do deserts recieve little rainfall?

   • Rain shadow
     • Once the air cools and condenses there is little moisture left
     • Happens to deserts on the lee side of a mountain!
       • Leeway side of the mountain is protected from the prevailing winds and is therefore drier
