1. Storage devices

   • Capacity
     • The amount of storage capability a component has
     • The storage is measured in megabytes, kilobytes, terabytes etc.
   • Portability
     • How movable a device is, Ie a desktop cannot be carried around whereas a laptop can, therefore making it more portable
   • Durability
     • Reliability
       • Reliability is how trustable a device can be, ie it is a safe component and will not break after elongated use
       • How consistent a device is.
     • This means how consistent a component/device is and how long it will last over time and through use

2. Programming

   • Errors
     • Logic
       • A bug within the code that means that the code will not operate correctly.
     • Syntax
       • An error with the language of the code .

3. Why does upgrading the RAM mean a better pc?

   • When the ram gets upgraded, It will have more storage capacity, therefore It will be able to run more fetch decode execute cycles and faster. This means that more programs, operating systems and files can be used/open at the same time. Allowing more usage capability for the pc.

4. CPU

   • Clock Speed
     • The amount of Fetch, decode, execute cycles a processor can carry out per second.
     • The clock speed is measured in hertz.
       • One hert is one cycle per second
         • 1 kilohertz is 1000 cycles per second.
           • 1 megahertz is 1,000,000 cycles per second
             • 1 gigahertz is 1,000,000,000
