1. Act 1- scene 3

   • Macbeth: "Stay, you imperfect speakers tell me more"-page 36. This shows ambition because of the imperative 'tell'. He is ordering the witches to talk to him about the prophecies which means he likes being told of the power he has. This could also show that Macbeth thinks of himself as powerful bceause he thinks he can tell supernatural creatures what to do
     • 'Speak, I charge you' The verb charge shows power and this supports that Macbeth thinks he is powerful. It also shows order
       • Duncan- "You greet with present grace and great prediction of noble having and of royal hope but to me you speak not. Banquo is jealous he is not beingtold he wil have the same possibilities as Macbeth. It shows ambition because Banquo wants to be like Macbeth
         • Duncan'"If you can look into the seeds oftime ans say which grain will grow and which will not , speak then to me' Metaphorically Banquo is saying he is greater than Macbeth over time which will tun out to be true
           • "Why do I yield to that horrid suggestion whose horrid image doth unfix my hair and make the seated heart know at my ribs" 'Yield shows that Macbeth can't get his iea out of his mind. However, at first Macbeth feels guilty thinking it.

2. The witches tell Banquo he is 'lesser than Macbeth and Greater to support that being overly ambitious leads to your downfall. Macbeth's ambition made him go agains the divine rights of king so bad things happened to him and he lost his reign

3. "Unsex me here and fill me from the crown to the toe full of the direst cruelty"- She doesn't want to feel remorse for doing an act against the divine rights of king "Stop up the access and passage to remorse"

   • Act 1 scene 5

4. Act 2 scene 1

   • "Or art thou but a dagger of the mind a false creation proceeding fro the heat oppressed brain

5. 'When you durst do it, then you were a man and to be more than that you would be so much more than a man

   • Act 1 Scene 6
   • I would, while it was smiling in my face have plucked my nipple out from his boneless gums and dashed his brains out' This is all because of a promise. This type of example Lady Macbeth is giving to Macbeth shows she is an immoral character as normally mothers have an love between their children. This shows the things Lady Macbeth would do to be come queen
