Section 8.1 Study Guide:
Understand the difference between autotrophs and heterotrophs
Be able to identify which heterotrophs directly vs indirectly feed off of autotrophs
Understand the difference between ADP and ATP
Memorize the molecule of ATP and understand each of its components
Learn how energy is released from ATP molecule (i.e. breaking of bonds)
Understand the difference between how ADP can form ATP vs. how ATP can be regenerated from ADP
Know the different ways cells can use energy from ATP
Section 8.2 Study Guide:
Know the starting reactants and ending products of photosynthesis; know the chemical equation
Be able to label all the reactants and products of photosynthesis
Understand the function of chlorophyll in photosynthesis, and what colors it absorbs/reflects
Section 8.3 Study Guide:
Understand the difference between the light-dependent and the light-independent/Calvin Cycle reactions
Know the starting reactants and the ending products for both reactions
Know where each reaction takes place inside a chloroplast
Be able to identify all the components inside a chloroplast and understand each of their functions
Understand when and how ATP ↔ ADP + P and NADP+ ↔ NADPH occurs
Know the difference between Photosystem I and Photosystem II, and how they are related to each other; also know where and in which order each occurs
Know the role of ATP synthase in terms of ATP production
Understand which factors will speed up/slow down the rate of photosynthesis
