Iteration and selection

Iteration is when a section of code is repeated in a loop.

Selection is where there are multiple choices.

Whats a data structure?

A data structure is a way of storing data in a grid. I.e. an array or a list.

What is a subroutine?

'A named 'out of line' block of code that may be executed (called) by simply writing its name in a program statement.'

Advantages:

Shortens code

Reduces duplicate code

Enables reuse of code across multiple programs

Divides large programming tasks among various programmers

Whats the differnmece between a local and global variable?

GV is defined at the top of a program and can be accessed from anywhere in the program. availability is throughout the program

The variables declared inside a function are LV

Whats the difference between a function and a procedure?

A function will always have an output.

A procedure is a set of commands and doesn't have to have an output.
