MODEL ATOMS

- Democritus

He said that the smallest particle of matter was the atom. He also thought that each atom was different depending the type of matter an its mass.

- Dalton

It was in 1803. He said that

1- All matter is made up of atoms

2- Atoms are indivisible and indestructible

3- All atoms are identical in mass and properties

4- Each element has different atoms

5- Compounds are formed by a combination of two or more kinds of atoms

6- A chemicla reaction involves a rearrngement of atoms, not a change in atoms

Daltons atomic theory is not true.

2- Atoms are not divisible because they have smaller particles
