- 1DataData is a set of raw facts or figures .

- 5Coarsens PrecisionThe encoded data is less accurate than the data from which it came from. For example - someone describes their eye colour as blue/green but a database will only allow you to enter blue, green or brown. So which one do we choose?
- 6Value JudgementValue judgement can be different for different people and can lead to inconsistency. For example – if asked “Was the meal ‘excellent’, ‘very good’, ‘good’, or ‘poor’?” One persons excellent meal is only good for another.
