Rule of Three Rule of three is a writing principle that suggests that things that come in threes are more memorable.
Oxymoron Oxymoron is a figure of speech in which two opposite ideas are joined to create an effect. Example: She's pretty ugly
Alliteration Alliteration is the repetition of the same sound or letter at the beginning of each or most of the words in a sentence.
Personification Personification is when you make an object or idea do something only a human can do. E.G. The moon smiled.
Metaphor A metaphor is there to make an even stronger image in the reader's head by describing a place, subject or object as something unlikely. E.G. He was a speeding bullet.
Simile A simile is a figure of speech that compares two things by using the words ‘like’ or ‘as’ something else. They are compared indirectly. Ellie swims like a fish.
