- People who take part in the action. Facial expressions, gestures, movements, speaking style are really important because it makes a character come alive.

- Is the play´s central idea or insight about life. One way to arrive to the theme is to notice how a character changes for the better or for the worse. Themes can be universal or a symbol.

- It usually starts by introducing the conflict, then it rises to a climax. As the play comes to a close any unanswered questions about the story are answered.

- It is basic to drama. Different conflicts may be presented in a play.
