Diploid Meaning

Diploid means two copies of chromosomes in a cell, one from mom and one from dad. Humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes in every cell, from muscle to bone to skin and brain cells. These cells become different even though they have the same DNA because not all of the DNA is expressed.
