LEARN TO SWIM

 

Swim classes were beginning. She didn´t know how to swim. She wanted to learn. She called up the pool. “Do you teach adults how to swim?”, she asked.

The instructor said: “ Yes, we teach adults how to swim. We teach kids how to swim. We teach everyone how to swim”.

 

She asked how much. “ How much do you charge?”, she asked. “We charge only 25,00 usd for adults.”, the instructor said.

She gave him her name. He put her name on the swim class list.” You are on the swim class list”, he said. “Your first lesson is Saturday at noon. Bring 25,00 usd and a towel.”

 

She asked: “That´s all I need to bring?”

 

He said: “I´m sorry. Bring your swimsuit, too.”

 

21.08.17  Ten Thousand Men Dance

Saman is a popular dance in Indonesia. It is also called the dance of a thousand hands.

More than 10,000 men do the dance.They  set a new record. The men are from Aceh. Aceh is in Sumatra.

They do the dance after the harvest. This shows their unity.

UNESCO  recognized it in 2011. The Director  General  of Culture said that the event shows that people still  uphold their culture.

SANDRA'S LIFE

Sandra is very beautiful, young, and successful. She´s a famous actress. She´s also very rich. Her house near the beach is big and beautiful, and her car is very expensive. Her fans love her. But is she happy?

Sandra says," Yeah, I'm young, rich, beautiful, and famous. People think rich people are happy. That´s not always true!"

Sandra´s brother, Mike, is her manager. He says, "Sandra is only 18. She enjoys acting and entertaining people. But she´s not happy. She doesn´t like being famous."

"It´s true," Sandra says. " I'm never alone. Reporters are everywhere. Wherever I go, they're there. They're outside my house all the time" That´s so annoying!".
