Partitives.
If we want to express a specific quantity of a countless element we will add a group of words that divide the whole into parts that can be counted followed by the preposition of:
- a bag of flour.
- a slice of meat.
- a carton of milk.
- a jar of jam.
- a drop of water.
- a pinch of salt.
- a can of pineapple.
