Question Answer
Conservative plate movement. As the plates slide past each other they become stuck, the pressure builds up and release a huge amount of energy therefore creating a major earthquake.
Constructive plate movement These plate boundaries move apart. Volcanoes are formed as the magma swells up from the ground to fill the gap that has created.
Destructive plate movement When the oceanic and continental plates move together. The oceanic plate is forced under the lighter continental plate. Friction causes melting of the oceanic plate and may trigger earthquakes.
