Class- based society
1. A group of people within a society who possess the same socioeconomic status.
Three main groups / classes
1. Upper Class:
  1. Wealthy Bourgeois:
    1. Bankers
    2. Factory owners
    3. Thanks to capitalism they obtained many profits at the cost of the lower class.
2. Middle Class
  1. Services
    1. Lawyers
    2. Doctors
  2. Shop owners
    1. Craftsmen
3. Working class
  1. Industrial workers, also known as the proletariat.
    1. They worked in factories. They did not own property and their wages were usually low
  2. Tenant farmers
    1. Rented agricultural land in order to cultivate it. Agricultural labourers did seasonal work and were paid by the day.
Utopian Socialism
1. ideological current that opposed capitalism and aimed to improve working conditions through education and negotiation with the middle class.
