A [blank_start]high[blank_end] [blank_start]birth[blank_end] rate suggests that the country is [blank_start]less[blank_end] developed because [blank_start]women[blank_end] in HIC have a [blank_start]good[blank_end] education and so prioritise their [blank_start]careers[blank_end] over having a [blank_start]family[blank_end], and if they do have children they have them later in their [blank_start]fertile[blank_end] years, meaning they have [blank_start]fewer[blank_end] children.

  3. 3Suggest how economic barriers can hold countries back.
A country’s [blank_start]environment[blank_end] can affect its levels of [blank_start]development[blank_end]. For example, if the area has [blank_start]high possibilities[blank_end] of Earthquakes it means that a lot of the country’s economy will be spent repairing damage or forecasting this natural hazard and not in health care or education. Another reason could be that the climate is extremely hot and the area is arid causing lots of droughts. This means that crops and food are scarce and the country spends its money trying to stop famine. It could also mean that the country would find it hard to train with other countries as they don’t have much to offer. Another factor that can affect a country’s development in politics. For example war or political unrest cause a country to spend its money on arms and artillery, instead of education and health care. Also if a country is defeated in war then they are in debt to the country that beat them so they don’t spend money on development.
