Using Jane Austen flashcards

Start with Pride and Prejudice quote card if you are revising quotations from that novel. Its cards include lines associated with Elizabeth and Mr Collins. For a character focus, Elizabeth Bennet gathers quotations about Elizabeth, while Pride and Prejudice Estates asks about places and the people who live there.

For a different novel, Northanger Abbey Quotes collects quotations, and Emma - Comprehension Questions asks you to identify phrases in a passage. There is also a deck of critics’ quotations on Mansfield Park.

Make recall part of revision

Work through a small set of cards and try to recall each answer or quotation before checking it. Return to the cards you find difficult after a break. If you want to see ideas connected visually, switch to a mind map on the Jane Austen unit page; use a quiz there when you want to test recall in another format. Try a deck alongside your reading.
