About plant identification and classification flashcards
GoConqr OriginalPlant identification and classification flashcards
These user-made decks offer different ways to practise recognising and naming plants. Forestry lists trees and other plants, while the crop identification deck includes crops and weeds. An indoor plant deck groups plants by family and genus, and the seed identification deck includes crop species.
Choosing and using a deck
Start with Leaf Characteristics if you want to focus on descriptive terms, or choose Plant Nomenclature - Week 2 to practise plant names. For a narrower set, pick a deck that matches the plants you are studying.
Work through a few cards at a time and try to recall each answer before checking it. Return to the cards you find difficult. When you want to test recall in a different way, switch to a quiz on the unit page; use a mind map there when you want an overview instead. Try a deck that fits your current topic.
Frequently asked questions
Which flashcard deck should I start with?
Choose a deck that matches what you are studying. Leaf Characteristics is a starting point for descriptive terms, while Plant Nomenclature - Week 2 focuses on names. If you are working with a particular group, the page also has decks on trees, crops, seeds and indoor plants.
Do the flashcards cover both common and scientific names?
Yes. Plant Nomenclature - Week 2 pairs scientific and common names for plants including river birch and sycamore. Other decks use different approaches: the indoor plant deck includes family and genus information, while the Forestry deck lists common names such as sweetgum and red maple.
Are these flashcards free to use?
Yes. Every deck listed on this page is free to open and study without an account. The resources were made by GoConqr users. A free account also lets you save quiz scores and make your own quizzes, mind maps, flashcards and notes.
