Practice Stimulating Ideas

[Without correction: 84]

Write for ten minutes on the topic below. Express yourself as well as you can. Don't worry about mistakes.

Write about a piece of clothing that is special to you -> kebaya, traditional clothes from Indonesia

what does it look like? purple, waist-short dress, bow in the back

How did you get it? my sister sew it for me as a gift

Why is it important to you? wore it on graduation,

How does it make you feel?

In 2017, I wore a burgundy-waist kebaya dress on my graduation ceremony. It was a very special dress because my sister sewed it exclusively for me. It took one month for my sister to sew it. I didn't buy the fabric. Instead, my mom gave it to me, so didn't really spare any expenses for this dress. Except, for the electricity bills which resulted from the sewing machine my sister used. Fortunately, it wasn't a huge bill.

At the first time, I didn't really know what kind of style and mode I wanted to use, so I looked it up on pinterest with my sister and my mom. I felt in love with the open-back style which uses ribbon as the hook. The ribbon was made from a silk fabric to emphasize the elegancy of the kebaya dress. At the front of the kebaya dress, we chose a simple and plain style since the ribbon and the open-back style are the stars of the kebaya dress.

On my graduation day, I wore the kebaya dress with a silver sarong and a purple hijab. I finished the look by applying make-up and wore a single-pearl necklace. I felt over the moon wearing the kebaya dress since it made me look poise and stunning. The pictures came out nicely, and I could say that was one of the best photos I've had in my life.
