Robust Programs
Fichas del conjunto (8)
- 1What is an Unwanted Input? An input that the program cannot work with e.g giving a number for a name input
- 2Input SanitisationWhere data is cleaned of all unwanted characters in a user input.
e.g removing spaces to prevent a SQL Injection - 3Input ValidationThe system checks that the input meets a certain criteria
e.g checking an '@' is included in an email - 4Types of TestingIterative - Testing ongoing throughout the development of the code
Final - Testing at the end of development to ensure all needs have been met. - 5Types of ErrorsSyntax - an error caused by a spelling or grammatical error
Runtime - an error occuring whilst the program is running
Logic - when the code runs but not as expected. - 6Testing PlansTo make sure the code is fully tested.
Made up of:
The test data
The reason for the test
The expected outcome
The actual outcome (added after development) - 7What is Authentication?Ensuring that only secure and trusted users can access a system.
e.g complex, regularly updated password with a limited number of login attempts. - 8What is Maintainability?Ensuring the code is easy to develop when looked at by other developers. Reduces the risk of introducing errors and bugs.
