- 5What is a router used for?It is a piece of network hardware inside of your device that allows you to connect to a wide area network (such as the Internet) with a modem already built inside.
- 6What is meant by a cultural issue?It is an issue which affects a particular group of people who follow their beliefs and social behaviour as part of their 'culture'.
- 7What is virtual memory used for?It is an area of storage within your secondary storage used to copy items not being used in your RAM so it frees up space but is slower in comparison to it.
- 8What is meant by cache?It is a small area of storage inside the CPU that stores the instructions frequently used.If a CPU has more cache it will allow more instruction to be stored thus reducing time taken fetching the data from your RAM.
- 9What is the difference between ROM and RAMRAM-volatile,ROM-non-volatile.The RAM stores programs that the computer is currently using whereas the ROM stores the instructions that are needed to boot up your device.
