- 1What is an input device?In computing, an input device is a piece of a computer used to transfer information to another device such as a joystick or a USB.
- 2What is a storage device?A storage device is a device used to collect storage from another device ,such as a computer, when connected.There are many storage devices such as a USB or maybe a CD.
- 3What is output device?An output device is a device that is connected to a computer ,such as a printer, that creates electronic work into human form of work.
- 4What is the purpose of a hard drive?A hard drive is a place where you can store your documents and things.
- 5What is the purpose of the power supply?A device that supplies power to the computer.It pumps electricity around the computer.
- 6What is the purpose of a computer case?It holds everything together.
- 7What is the purpose of the motherboard?It send messages to the components inside the computer.
- 8What is the purpose of the processor?Its like a brain. Its where all the processes are carried out.
- 9What is the purpose of the RAM?Its where the current task is being stored.It is like when you are thinking.
- 10What is the purpose of the ROM?Stores the programme that is used to boot up the computer bootstrap loader. Stands for READ ONLY MEMORY.
- 11What is repetitive strain injury and what causes this?Usually damage to the wrist and fingers caused by repetitive movements over a long period of time.
- 12What is the cause of back injuries when using a computer?Usually due to poor posture or sitting in an awkward position while using a computer.
- 13What is eye strain and what is the cause?Usually caused by staring at a computer screen for a long time. Particularly in poor light, in glare or with a flickering screen.
- 14By law, what do employers have to provide for their employees? (in regards to working with computers)Tiltable screens, anti-glare screen filters , adjustable chairs, foot supports , suitable lighting, workstations are not cramped, when working on a computer take frequent breaks, appropriate eye and eye tests by optician.
- 15What is the purpose of Binary?The binary code represents text, using a similar job to a secret code. Usually, it is represented by 0 and 1's.
- 16How many bits are in a Binary number?16 bits are in a binary number.
- 17How to convert from binary to denery (normal numbers)?Use binary codes in the graph
- 18What devices do you need to connect to the internet?A device that you need to connect to the internet. You also need a Network Interface Card so it can connect to the router.
