At the start he doesn't want to kill Duncan but throughout the play changes as his hunger for power becomes greater. Lady Macbeth influences evil as her thirst for power is greater than Macbeth's ever was during the play.
- 3Power and CorruptionThroughout the play Macbeth shows ambition for power that takes control of him. The witches told Macbeth he couldn't be killed by anyone "born of woman" or until to woods moved. This went to he head, he thought he was invincible and had power over life and death.

- 4Power and CorruptionLady Macbeth is guilty of corrutping Macbeth by pressuring him to kill Duncan for her own gain. This starts Macbeth on a dark path which results in demise. Ultimately, the power becomes too much for Lady Macbeth and causes her hallucinations and eventually suicide.

- 5DeathContext: By killing a king, Macbeth is going against the will of God. He disturbes the natural order and in the end gets punished. Killing becomes easier for Macbeth the more he does it. Most of the kills are to gain power. Macbeths own death serves justice and warning.

- 6Courage and HeroismMacduff is a hero at the end as he is the one who kills Macbeth to rid of evil. Macbeth is a tragic hero because he starts the play good and succumbs to corruption and dies. Banquo shows courage giving his life for his son but is not a hero.

- 8WarIn the last battle, England and Scotland join against Macbeth - uniting to fight evil. This highlights the importance of ridding corruption and evil as 2 warring countries put their differences aside in recognition of evil.

- 9SupernaturalHow much influence did the witches at the start have on the story? Would Macbeth's fate have been different if he didn't know it?
Banquo's ghost scares Macbeth by making him face up to what he has done. The ghost acts like Macbeth's conscience.
- 10SupernaturalThe second witches prophecy ( Beware Macduff, ye shall not be harmed by one of woman born, ye is safe until the woods move) so Macbeth is led to believe he is invinsible.
