- 1What is the formula for force?Force=mass*acceleration. If the forces acting on an object are balanced, it's at rest or has a constant speed. If the forces acting on an object are unbalanced, it speeds up or slows down.
- 2What is the equation F=ma used for?To find mass or acceleration if the resultant force is known.
- 3When does reaction time and thinking time increase? If driver is tired, under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, traveling faster or distracted or lacks concentration.
- 4When may breaking distance increase? If the road conditions are poor, car has not been properly mentioned or the speed is increased.
- 5What must a safe driver be able to do?To stop safely, keep an appropriate distance from the car in front, have different speed limits for different types of road and locations and slow down when road road conditions are poor.
- 6What are the factors affecting braking distance? The greater the mass of a vehicle the greater its braking distance. The greater the speed of the vehicle the greater its braking distance. When the breaks are applied to the brake pads are pushed against the disc, creating large friction. Worn tyres with very little threads reduce the grip of the wheels on slippery road. Increased braking force reduces the stopping distance.
- 7What does thinking distance increase?Linearly with speed.
