- 1What do computing devices do?They use electronic signals to represent data.
A pulse of electricity is used to show those values. They're either on or off (True 1 or False 0) - 2What are logic gates?A logic gate is a physical electronic device implementing a Boolean function, a logical operation performed on one or more binary inputs that produces a single binary output.
- 3What are the names of the 4 main gates in the system?AND, OR, NOT and XOR, Those are the main gates which are needed. You don't need the additional gates.
- 4How can logic gates be built?Logic gates can be built up into chains of logical decisions. Some logic gates may have more than two inputs. The diagram below shows a complex logic gate combining three simple gates.
- 5How many inputs and positive outcomes exactly does the system have?Altogether there are three inputs and eight possible outcomes. To solve the truth table below, first find D, then E and finally Z. You should complete a columnn before moving on to the next column. D depends only on A, E depends on B and C, and Z depends on E or D.
