Blank Film Film placed in fixer before developed so image is destroyed
Partly blank film Film partially immersed in developer solution.
Fogged film Room or machine is not light tight and film is exposed to to light before it is processed.
Faint image Developer solution too weak Developer solution temperature low Underdeveloped
Image fades Fixing time is too short so image is not held on the film
Loss of film Poor maintenance of equipment as rollers in developer have not been cleaned and film is stuck
Visible artefacts Film has been contaminated with spillages of solutions.
