- 1What are the steps to a dilation?STEP 1: Connect all vertexes of the shape to the point of dilation with an extended line
STEP 2: Measure the distance from each vertex to the point of dilation
STEP 3: Multiply that distance by the scale factor and place a point there (don't forget to put the prime sign)
STEP 4: Connect the dots - 2What makes two shapes similar?1- Their corresponding angles are congruent
2- The lengths of corresponding sides are proportional (by scale factor) - 3When is the mirror image of a shape bigger, smaller and the same sizek= scale factor
BIGGER: k>1 or k<-1
SMALLER: K>-1 OR k<1
* if k = 0, the shape will become the dilation point
SAME SIZE: k=1 or k=-1
