What is EU secondary law?	Regulations, directives, decisions and recommendations/opinions. Article 288 TFEU
Who is the EU legislature?	Historically - legislative power lied in the Council adopting legislative proposals from the Commission. Now - through treaty amendments the role of the EU Parliament in law-making has increased.
How has the legislative power of the European Parliament increased?	SEA - introduced the 'co-operation procedure' - where applicable the Parliament became a third actor in law-making. TEU - introduced the 'co-decision procedure' - Parliament now had power to veto the adoption of legislative measures (no law could be adopted without its approval). Treaty of Lisbon - introduced the notion of an 'ordinary legislative procedure' cemented the 'co-decision procedure'.
Which articles can you see the Parliament's increased power?	Article 14(1) TEU Article 16(1) TEU Article 289 TFEU
What is the legal base?	Any new EU law must be based on one or more articles of the Union’s founding treaties
Ordinary Legislative Procedure (OLP)	Introduced by TEU - now stated in Article 289 TFEU. Procedure has strong emphasis on compromise and dialogue to reach a common ground.
