System Architecture

1. Embedded Systems

   • Embedded Systems are computers that are made for one specific job.

2. Computer Systems

   • INPUT
   • PROCESS
   • OUTPUT

3. CPU

   • The purpose of a CPU is to process data and instructions
   • Accumulator
     • Arithmetic and logic results are stored
   • Control Unit
     • Responsible for the direct flow of inputs and outputs
   • Memory address Register
     • This is used to hold and locate the data or instructions in a specific address
   • Memory Data Register
     • This holds the actual data that is being fetched
   • Program Counter
     • Holds the address of the next instruction
   • Cache
     • This is a small section of memory that is built into the CPU

     • DECODE
